What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care is a non invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the neuro-musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, and prevent mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine.
Chiropractors use a variety of techniques to improve physical function and to alleviate pain, muscle tightness, and inflammation. The most common therapeutic procedure performed by chiropractors is known as "spinal manipulation," or "chiropractic adjustment". The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in movement due to tissue injury.
Chiropractic care is often used as a natural, drug-free way to improve health and quality of life by enhancing spinal function, which in turn can boost the functioning of the entire central nervous system. People may seek chiropractic treatment for a variety of health issues, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sports injuries or other health complications.
